In the hospital...
Bryanna Joy was born premature. I don't believe her birthmother had a set due date (that I know of anyway) and the hospital estimated her to be born at 32-35 weeks. She is amazing! Underneath all of those tubes and cords is a beautiful baby girl...with a head full of hair!
Bryanna spent the first 17 days of her life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St. John Hospital in Detroit. We got the call about her placement on Thursday, September 13 at lunch time and about an hour later Bryan and I were on the road headed to Detroit to meet Bryanna's birthmother, the agency director and then to the hospital to see her for the first time.
We are so thankful for the chance to meet Bryanna's birthmother. I only have the time tonight to share that God's hand has been so visible through this process and meeting this wonderful woman only proved to me how perfect God's timing always is! I will have to find a time when I am not feeling so sleep deprived to share the amazing story of Bryanna joining our family.
I will say that after 2 weeks of long drives to Detroit we are so glad to have her home now. She is perfect - just miniature. The most common response when people see her for the first time..."AAAAhhhh- she doesnt' look real" "sooo tiny!" "she looks like a little china doll"
Bryanna weighs just over 4 lbs now and the only problem I can think of is that I am taking WAY too many pictures!!
